Stuck

So, I'm working on another long fan fic - already around 19k - and I'm stuck on a part.  I wrote it once, deleted, rewrote it again last night, and still feel...erm...about it.

So question to anyone who might see this:  when you get stuck, what do you do to get yourself out of a writing rut?

Hey all!  Want to play a fun writing game and maybe get some awesome silly (or dark, or any) fic out of it?  Try this game:

The Avengers Mansion Challenge!

The rules are simple:
  1. One player names a start game event, like Someone left a Hulk plushie on Bruce's bed.
  2. The other player names an end game event, like Natasha kills a guy with epic thighs of DOOM.

The players then take turns writing a line until they get from start to finish.  You can take turns writing lines, mini-scene descriptions, paragraphs, whatever - run wild!  Go crazy!  Have fun doing it, though, and feel free to use the Avengers Mansion Challenge! tag (see below) if you post anything that comes of it.

My friend valdemort and I played a few nights ago, then cleaned up the results and ended up with a lovely bit of fluff that we posted over on AO3.  Feel free to give a look.

Here's our fluff story in which the Hulk gets a haircut!

And I answered here with this:

So - I've been thinking about slash, and what makes it work for me.  Of course, there's the general hotness of it, seeing men going mad with abandon, but there's two other big elements that do it for me.

First is the fact that it's there - hidden in the shows, just effin' waiting to be found and fed.  Watch, for example, how Tony looks at Bruce while he walks behind him and shocks him - if that isn't checking someone out, I don't know what is.  And Bruce likes it; he smiles, and sees.  So it's like the writers are daring us to see this, as writers have been in Hollywood for decades.

And then, there's the fact that it's forbidden.  How many man-on-man moments are there in cinema?  And how many are even close to the reality of it?  The reality is raw and brutal and effin' nasty, often, as sex can be, and we never see that shit. I want to see it - and, as a person who can literally never experience myself (being female), the closest thing I have to experiencing is writing or reading it.

So there's a start on why I think slash works for women.  It's first thoughts, but ones formed enough to share.

Chapters: 1/1
Fandom:
The Avengers (2012)
Rating: NC-17
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Bruce Banner/Tony Stark
Summary:
Bruce bucked under him, and Tony knew.  It was
exactly what it looked like.

In which Bruce and Tony find themselves in a very bad situation, and Tony learns something really important.

This is a prompt fic inspired by this prompt on avengerskink.  It strayed from the original, but fell nicely into a series I'm apparently writing, like it or no.

I have to give a nod toward this story, because I read it before writing this one.  It's hawt, and deals with accidental sex, too.

Hints of dub-con, but it gets better.

So - I just posted an Avengers (well, really Tony & Bruce) story. It's a long one. I'm a-skeered.

Please tell me what you think.

I like it, of course, it being my baby. It's likely pre-slash, definitely not slash right now, and full of both funny and dark.

Two notes:

(1) NOT my characters. They all belong to Marvel. I ain't trying to steal them and am just having fun.
(2) Some pretty graphic abuse scenes.
(3) I welcome any and all feedback.

And - that's it. Please spread if you think someone you know would like it.
